Reading Comprehension Review Test Prep Game. This fun and engaging game will help your students practice their reading skills and prep for their state reading tests. Children love to play games, so they will be practicing without even realizing they are reviewing the concepts learned during the year.
This question-answer game is a gameboard style game that features 20 question cards for each one of these categories: Cause and Effect, Character Traits, Compare and Contrast, Inferences, Predictions and Context Clues. You may also want to place the cards in a pocket chart and assign points to the cards and have them play TV game show style.
They are most suitable for grades 3 and 4, but can certainly be used in grade 5 for extra practice and confidence-building.
Here is what is included in this resource:
• 1 Gameboard and 4 flat counters.
• 120 Questions Cards (20 for each one of the 6 categories outlined above)
• Instructions for the students
• Teacher Notes
• Suggestions from the author
• Cover page of the game in case you want to set it up in a folder, box, etc and 6 pages with names of the categories to print on the back of the questions cards if you choose to do so.
I've had many students play this game and they absolutely adore it. It is so engaging that they keep asking me for more!
UPDATE 8/19: By customer request, I added a version of the cards formatted with no highlighted answers, the key is on a separate sheet and the cards are numbered. This format allows the cards to be used as regular task cards, instead of part of the game.
