RADD Writing Support

This file contains two pages. The first one is a printable poster to display and the second one is student sheet that can be kept with the student as a resource wherever they are working. Both charts outline the same thing; parts of a RADD short response. This helps students organize the RADD short response using the correct words. This style of writing is specific expectation for Short Responses on the New York State ELA Test as well as the Common Core Short Responses.

I have personally used this with 3rd - 8th graders and it is immensely helpful. Once students have the format down a bit, it is not as necessary. Although struggling students might benefit from the checklist page after other students have internalized it.
