What educators are saying
Many of my students needed to continue to practice their penmanship even in 4th grade. These quotes were long enough to provide good practice, yet short enough to not lose their interest. I am an avid reader, and I loved to make connections with the books the quotes came from.
Description
Handwriting practice lessons using famous quotes.
This is a 28 page penmanship workbook. There are 13 different quotes from literature to practice in print, and then in cursive. Students trace over dotted-line quotes, and then rewrite it themselves.
Improve handwriting and introduce characters and ideas from popular children's literature. I use these in a reading enrichment class for 6th graders. The students begin their day by warming up their handwriting muscles while I read an excerpt from the book.
Then we discuss what the quote means.
There are many ways to use this resource!
• Ideal for a wide range of ages
• Great as a morning warm-up before other school activities, or as extra practice when handwriting skills start to slip
• Perfect for fine motor skill physical therapy, especially for individuals recovering from stroke or hand injury
Great for homeschooling! Siblings of all ages can start the day with this activity.
Great in emergency substitute folders
