What educators are saying

I use these as bell ringers on alternating weeks with my 7th graders. They enjoy looking up the sources of the quotes and debating how their experiences might have impacted what they said. Super easy for me to prepare and just the right amount of challenging for the kids to work through.
I used the paper version of this resource for a daily bell ringer. They quotes are rigorous and make the students think. It review many reading and vocabulary skills. Well worth the money! Thank You.

*Month 6 was created with Black History Month in mind; many quotes come from notable African Americans.

*Month 7 was created with Women's History Month in mind; many quotes come from notable women.

I've made it easy to choose quotes by author, topic, or skill using the handy Quote Index that is included in the file! I often choose quotes relating to specific events going on in my school or classroom, and when we cover topics like figurative language and poetry terms, I try to find quotes that reinforce those skills.

I am constantly amazed by the relevance of these quotes, even though many of them were written centuries ago! So often the quote I choose at random touches on a specific issue going on in my class that day. I hope your students are as inspired by these wonderful quotes as mine have been over the years!

A detailed answer key is included for each bellringer!
