Quadrilaterals - Guided Notes - Intro to the Kite Student and Teacher Versions

This is an interactive Guided Notes (GN) Package designed to assist students in their understanding of the properties of the kite. I use this GN package when first introducting the topic of the kite in my Geometry, Math 2 and Math 3 classes in our study of quadrilaterals.

The GN Package includes the following parts or sections:

• Part A – General Introduction
• Part B – Vocabulary
• Part C – Basic Properties
• Part D – Properly Labelled and Defined Kite
• Work Problem Appendix

During class I help the students fill in the blanks in Parts A - D. This is designed to be a joint effort by the teacher and students. Following the completion of these 4 parts, the students are to complete all five (5) of the work problems included in the Work Problem Appendix. The first work problem involves the labelling, measurement and definiton of a kite while applying all of its properties outlined in Part C of the package.

This GN Package is extremely detailed and covers all of the properties for the kite as noted in the typical Geometry, Math 2 and Math 3 curriculums. Although Parts A - D of the GN Package are designed to be completed by individual students, students can work in pairs or groups, if so desired by the teacher, to complete the 5 problems in the Work Problem Appendix. Working in pairs or groups would allow for these problems to be completed in a more timely manner. The problems in the Work Problem Appendix could also be assigned as homework if desired.

This GN Package includes both a Student Version and a Teacher Version (with complete Answer Key). Answers to each part of the GN Package are provided in the Teacher Version. Between the Teacher and Student Versions, there are 12 total pages in the package. The native MS Word file is included for both the Teacher and Student Versions in the event the teacher desires to make any modifications to the project to suit her or his classroom purposes.
