Description

Dive into research and writing with this fun project focused on birds!

Students will get to choose from a list of 22 birds to research and write about. Each type of bird has it's own page filled with QR codes (3-4 QR codes are linked to websites and 1-2 QR codes are linked to videos). By using QR codes it scaffolds the research, giving students more time to read through the websites and watch videos to find the information they need.

Students will get to organize information by taking notes on the Research Findings pages. These are laid out with questions and note taking boxes to guide students to find the appropriate information they will need for their final copy.

Finally students will then turn their findings into paragraphs and create a final copy using the "news paper" layout final draft pages. (You could also have students type up their findings by creating a small research paper.)

Use this as an independent early finisher project or as a whole class or partner writing project. There are so many options, do what fits the needs of your students!
