What educators are saying

The roller coaster diagrams were really engaging and helpful, and the extra information on the cards allowed me to generate extension activities.

Description

This Pythagorean Theorem project based learning (PBL) activity is perfect for middle and high school. It will engage students by asking them to determine the lengths of the highest drops of some of the most well-known roller coasters in the country!

Students use the vertical drop and horizontal distance traveled to determine the length on the tracks of ten different coasters. They will love seeing coasters they might be familiar with, and photos and facts about each are included.

This resource is a printable PDF designed for in-person learners. It includes a teacher direction page and an answer key.
