Description
This four day unit of study is packed with fun for Kindergarteners. Each of the four days covers a different seasonal concept (pumpkins, leaves, Thanksgiving, giving thanks) and several skills (the five senses, adjectives, the letter "L", letter sounds, brainstorming, and writing).
The unit of study lessons use the following strategies:
-Read aloud
-Grand conversation
-Choral reading
-Physical movement to literature
-Word walls
-Modeling
-Coaching
-Scaffolding
-Predicting
-Brainstorming, etc.
Each day's lesson is centered on one of the following books:
-The Perfect Pumpkin by Janet Craig
-Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert
-I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie by Alison Jackson
-The Best Thanksgiving Ever! by Teddy Slater
