What educators are saying

This was so interesting and engaging! My students loved looking at optical illusions for a break from regular class.
I'm currently teaching a summer enrichment psychology course where students are technically required to do any work, yet all the students were so engaged in this! I wish I had more time to use this in my AP course during the year! It's great.

Description

Optical illusions are a great way for psychology students to learn about perception! This activity really does make serious learning fun. It will keep ‘em busy and fascinated for a full class period or longer, depending on the level of the students and how much you do with it. If you like, you can just sit back and let the self-contained 8-page packet of interactive and informational mini-activities engage them on its own. Or, you can lead them through it, discussing each section as a group. (It is recommended to let them work on it in pairs.) The activity packet guides the students through a series of very cool illusions and other optical effects, which serve as examples of the various principles of human perception. The text-dependent questions that accompany each section require them to reflect upon the images and apply concepts as they go.
