Description

This powerpoint introduces the four main protists: Amoebas, Paramecium, Volvox and Euglena. It is best used with the "protist guided notes". The powerpoint is very informational, exciting and engaging! It includes multiple engaging video clips for each of the protists. It also includes clips for overview video clips of the protist kingdom and beautiful video clips and galleries of images of under the microscope and within a single drop of pond water. This powerpoint, with its pictures and video clips, is a great way to engage students and blow their minds about a world that we don't have usual access to - beyond the human eye! The content standards-aligned to 7th-grade essential standards (protist unit). It summarizes the main characteristics of each protists: How do they move? How do they get their energy? Prokaryote or Eukaryote? Where do they live? How do they get rid of their waste? How do they reproduce? Single-celled or Multicelluar? Special Features? The powerpoint point includes Bell Ringer's, review, and exit tickets. It also includes some awesome science extensions about extremophiles and other single-celled creatures, as well as some crazy clips of the protists chasing and eating eachother.
