    Description

Are you introducing Exponent Rules? Miss Kuiper's Classroom has you covered with this exponent rules worksheet & guided notes! In this worksheet exponent rules such as Product Rule, Quotient Rule, and Power to a Power Rule will be explained.

    Products Included:

    • Aligned Common Core Standards
    • Guided Notes (print & digital)
    • Product Rule Mystery Puzzle (other rules to be added soon!)
    • Exponent Rules Worksheet (printable)
    • TpT Easel Activity Exponent Rules Worksheet
    • Assessment (printable)
    • TpT Easel Activity Assessment

The guided notes will walk students through a quick review of exponents and then go through the 3 main rules with exponents.

In the Mystery Puzzle, students will be asked to multiply two numbers with exponents. They will choose the answer from a drop-down menu. This activity is self-grading. If students choose the correct answer, the cell will turn green and pieces to the mystery puzzle will appear. If students choose incorrectly, the cell with turn red.

This contains an interactive worksheet. In one of the worksheet sections, students will use dice to create the exponents. Whatever numbers they roll become the exponents. Cool, right? This allows the monotonous practice to turn into an engaging and motivating activity.

You also will receive an assessment in this resource. It combines all three of the exponent rules. It has written questions as well to increase the depth of knowledge. Students will use dice for the assessment.

This includes 2 versions of the worksheet and assessment. Version 1 is a regular worksheet and assessment. Version 2 is remodeled into a gamification worksheet and assessment. Open the preview for more details!

Know and apply the properties of integer exponents to generate equivalent numerical expressions. For example, 3² × (3⁻⁵) = (3⁻³) = 1/3³ = 1/27.
Explain how the definition of the meaning of rational exponents follows from extending the properties of integer exponents to those values, allowing for a notation for radicals in terms of rational exponents. For example, we define 5 to the 1/3 power to be the cube root of 5 because we want (5 to the 1/3 power)³ = 5 to the (1/3)(3) power to hold, so (5 to the 1/3 power)³ must equal 5.
Rewrite expressions involving radicals and rational exponents using the properties of exponents.
