Description
Using CUBES for problem-solving is super simple and effective for students. I started using CUBES and will never try anything different! It is simple, easy to remember, and each step is sequential and so important in the problem solving process! Use these posters, bookmarks, checklists, and desk tags to display in your classroom as a reference for your students throughout the year!
CUBES Strategy in this resource is as follows:
C - Circle the numbers
U - Underline the question
B - Box in key words
E - Eliminate extra information
*E - Evaluate your strategy (this is option included)
S - Solve and show your work
There are scrolling bookmarks to keep students on track. There is also a song I wrote to the tune of "Git Up" by Blanco Brown. I included the audio file so you can hear how it goes (no judging!). The song gets the students up and helps them remember the steps in a fun way.
There is color version and black and white version too! I even included bulletin board letters #mathstrategies as a heading for a bulletin board that you can make to keep your math strategies displayed throughout the year.
