Description

I don't know what substitutes look like in your building, but in my school, subs are not allowed to touch technology, they know nothing about music, and my students act like crazies. So when I look at most elementary music sub plans, they do not work for me.

So I decided to make some elementary music (or beginning band or choir or music theory....) sub plans that would work for my classroom-- and hopefully yours too!

These sub plans are designed to be used at any point in the year. Therefore, they are not specific to any concept, but instead, they have writing prompts about music, students' favorite song, whether they like to sing, and more!

There are 5 different prompts. Each prompt has one graphic organizer and 3-4 tiered writing response pages. That way, you can leave the same prompt for every grade, but they can answer it to the best of their ability. Each prompt has a response page for Kindergarten-first grade, second grade-third grade, and fourth grade-fifth grade. Some even have two different response pages for the little kids.

For example, one of the prompts asks about students' favorite song. There is a page where students just write the name and why they like it, then draw a picture. The is a page with 6 different sentence starters, for 2-3 grade students. Then there is a graphic organizer and an almost blank page for older students.

There are a total of 21 pages. All are print and go!

Includes:

  • 5 writing prompts with one graphic organizer and 3-4 tiered writing response sheets (21 pages total!)
