Description

Explore the lives of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington and commemorate Presidents' Day with an interactive read-aloud unit. This book companion unit is designed to accompany the book "Presidents' Day" by Anne Rockwell, and it includes a read-aloud link for those who don't have the book. The unit features passages about Washington and Lincoln, along with a craft activity that prompts students to reference the passages for evidence. Additionally, students have the opportunity to engage in research about a president and present their findings through a paper or Google Slides presentation. The unit also incorporates activities for practicing listening and speaking skills, such as writing about why they would be a good class president. Furthermore, it includes an interactive mini symbols book and two passages (Mount Rushmore, Presidents' Day) to provide extra practice with identifying main ideas, details, and text evidence. Lastly, there is an adorable yet straightforward Lincoln Hat literacy snack and writing activity included in this comprehensive unit.
