Presidents' Day Math Task Cards
2nd- 4th grade
Engage students in math skills as they learn some American history. Students will gain knowledge on 2 pivotal American Presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln while they practice math one-step word problems. In addition, two mini posters and a depth and complexity activity is included for your use.

The distance from the ground to the top of the roof is 33 feet and from the roof to the tip of the weathervane is another 25 feet. What is the distance from the ground to the weathervane?
Example of Less Challenging Question
Abraham Lincoln only attended school for one year. He taught himself through reading and became a lawyer. Suppose a person read 15 books in January, 21 books in February and 7 in March, how many books did they read during the three months? What is this number rounded to the nearest 10?
