President's Day Coin Sorting Mat

Here is a great way to start teaching your students about the Presidents and the different types of money they can be found on. Print and laminate this sorting mat, then place it in your math center along with a bag of coins and let the kids compare and sort the coins. Teacher guided discussion can elp the kids describe the coins and talk the presidents that are on each one, talk about how money is used, practice fine motor skills by stacking the coins on the mat as they are sorted, count the number of each coin... the possibilities are endless!
