***SEE PREVIEW FOR MORE DETAILS***

This resource is intended for first or second grade, but you know your learners better than I do, so take a close look at the sheets and make sure these will work for your students.

Handwriting lines and plain lines are included so you can differentiate as necessary for fine motor needs.

Here is what is included:

  • 1 boy and 1 girl frame for students to draw themselves as President that can be used as a cover for the pages included and one blank page with Meet President__________________for students to draw self-portraits…your choice!

  • Boy and Girl President writing frames which have lines or handwriting lines that encourage writing about what it would be like to be President. One set has starter sentences for those students who may need a bit more encouragement to write.

  • A writing response frame that encourages students to write about a feeling they might have if they were president: I think it would _____________to be President because…

  • A frame to write about 3 things they would definitely have in the White house. (lined and unlined)

  • A blank White House Frame for students to design and decide what the inside of the White House would look like if they lived there.

  • One page lines only to answer: If I were President, I would definitely have to have________________________because_______________________.

As a BONUS, a tracer and directions for a 3 corner hat that is included in a resource for older students is included because we all know how much younger learners love to create hats and the like!!

Teacher Tips:

  1. Run covers on cardstock or heavier paper.
  2. Pick and choose which pages work best for your learners and differentiate the pages as needed.
  3. This would look great as a bulletin board display hanging the entire booklet on an angle.
  4. You might want to use it as a station activity for writing.
  5. It can also be used on President’s Day or on George Washington or Abe Lincoln’s actual birthday.
  6. Use for writing workshop.
  7. Have a sharing day in hats and invite parents in and have small groups of students share to parents or a whole class share.
  8. Choose a page and create a class book for your class to read and reread.
  9. All students would LOVE to make the hat and that is easy peasy! Have fun with it and ENJOY!
