Discover the fun of learning about the ROAD TO THE WHITEHOUSE with this Election Day Escape Room!

Engage students for over an hour with these Close Reading Challenges designed to enhance understanding of the electoral college and presidential election process in a simplified and fun manner.

Close Reading CHALLENGES include:

  • Informational Text- “The Road to the White House” and “The Electoral College Simplified”
  • Breakout Task 1- Plot an Escape: Vocabulary Word Match
  • Breakout Task 2- Use Deductive Logic: Fill in the Blanks
  • Breakout Task 3- Scour the Scene: Find Sentences in a Paragraph
  • Breakout Task 4- Make Your Way Through the Maze
  • BONUS Writing Activity: Respond to 3 “Would You Rather” Questions
  • Complete an Exit Ticket: Fill in the Code. Respond to 3 reading comprehension statements.

Approximately 1+ hours of Activities (5 separate activities for all at once or separately)

Grades 5-8

All tasks in this challenge are related to THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION and require students to use several reading comprehension skills.

This packet is perfect for sub plans, Literacy centers, group work, independent work or early finishers
