TWO VERSIONS

Two versions of the same coloring pages are included.

Version 1: Colors for each self-talk statements are assigned. This means students just use that color to find the phrase and color it in.

Version 2: Students can choose their own colors for each self-talk statements. This allows students to be a bit more creative. Every student's picture will look unique!

Ways to Use

• Assign as a "do now" in the morning.
• Use as an early finisher.
• Keep copies in a calm-down area.
• Send home for extra social-emotional practice.

Why Teach Social Emotional Learning Skills

Social and emotional learning, referred to as SEL, is the process that helps kids and young adults learn critical skills, attitudes, and mindsets for social and emotional success. These skills cover five major areas: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationships, and responsible decision-making. It’s actually difficult to describe in just one sentence because SEL covers everything from building confidence and managing emotions to making friends and understanding ethical decision-making skills. These are truly the foundational skills that help kids to be successful in and out of school.
