This ESL newcomers activities resource contains verbs common to everyday student life. Beneficial for all ages including ESL adult beginners.

How to Use Dual Language Action Verbs Vocabulary Lists

• Play a listening game. (After practicing and learning some of the words) Give each Portuguese ESL student a copy of the vocabulary list. In random order, say an English word from the list. Students scan the list and circle the word.
• Play a speaking game. Using a round robin method, have each ESL Portuguese student pick a verb from the list and verbally use it in a sentence to the best of their ability.
• Use for spelling tests. As students learn the meanings of words, they should also learn how to spell them.
