What educators are saying

I'm teaching my 2nd graders about Pop Art, and the large dot paper in this pack is perfect for them! They have to practice patience coloring those dots in, which is another great lesson, of course. ;)
This supported my planning brilliantly - the artwork the kids have created is sensational! Thank you!

Description

This lesson focuses on Roy Lichtenstein’s style using benday and Andy Warhol’s style of using color schemes in his pop art. This lesson can be taught in three main ways: Drawing a pop bottle, Drawing a can in correct perspective, and Drawing a portrait using correct proportions. I now include the small and large benday dots handouts together along with a lesson plan for approx. 4 class times.

What's Included:
• Lesson plan for drawing a pop bottle, drawing a can, or drawing a portrait with videos created by me for demonstration purposes
• Benday dots handouts (1 large, 1 small)
• Example photos

Materials Required:
• Benday dots handout (large or small)
• Pop bottles, cans, or photos of students/celebrities
• Markers
• Sharpies
• Colored pencils/Watercolor pencils

This lesson can be taught to a variety of ages and in a variety of ways. Included with this lesson plan are the LARGE benday dots handout and the SMALL benday dots handout.

The large benday dots handout is most suitable for younger ages or special ed learners who might struggle or grow impatient with the small benday dots handout.

The small benday dots handout is most suitable for older ages 6th-9th grade.
