Polar Graphing Practice Color Match Activity [Precalculus or Geometry]
- PDF
What educators are saying
Description
Want a fun way to formatively assess students in a differentiated way that will allow students to self-check and monitor their own progress?! Who doesn't? I want to introduce you to the color match.
Students match the polar equation with its graph, coloring the equation and graph the same color. Students know if they are on the right track or not when graphing the polar equations because the answers are at the bottom of the page. If they can't find their answer, they will ask you for help!
This activity includes practice for:
--circles
--lines
--spirals
--roses/flowers
--limacons
--lemniscates
Students get tired of boring homework and in-class activities and love to mix it up with fun and creative ways to practice mathematics!
This activity is great for in-class practice and homework! Kids love to color (and studies have shown that coloring reduces stress!) and this is a great way to engage them in the classwork or homework you are assigning! These can even be posted in the classroom or hallway because students do such a great job and they usually turn out to be beautiful!
