What educators are saying
Description
Included in this engaging and fun unit is a poetry journal that has 20 different poems for your students to create. Similes, Metaphors, Personification, Hyperboles, Onomatopoeia and Alliteration poems are all included. This product is easy to set up, you simply print and copy, this product also works well with distance learning.
For each poem clear directions and an example of the poem is given, then your students will write their own poem. After you correct the poem, the students can rewrite the poem.
This poetry journal can be used many different ways, with direct instruction, as an extra writing activity or work for your students to do independently, or in small groups. This journal can be used all year long, or each day for a month. This product can also be easily used remotely for distance learning.
One thing for sure your students will be writing and understanding some basic poems and learn figurative language. Similes, Metaphors, Personification, Hyperboles, Onomatopoeia and Alliteration poems are all included.
Figurative language posters are included along with a great sorting activity. The sorting activity first can be used as a lesson and then put out for students to use in a center. I am so excited about this journal.
