Description

Updated in 2021 to include a Google Slides version AND a printable!

Are you looking for a no prep poetry activity that's perfect for Valentine's Day? Then this is the resource for you?

This Poetry Break! features a poem by Christina Rossetti that gently celebrates a wedding ceremony. It's a mildly romantic poem that won't drive your boys away and that your girls will love!

Also, it's a perfect entry point for studying structure, so you can meet your poetry standards and celebrate the holiday at the same time! It uses Alliteration and Repetition to create a repeatable structure. It's a great vehicle for learning about these poetic devices and to use them in an original piece of writing. It's super fun for Valentine's Day, or any day!

You get:

1. A copy of the poem

2. Suggestions for teaching, including ideas about analysis of the poem

3. A sample Student Poem

4. A Student Writing Activity

5. A Rubric

6. A Poetry Glossary

7. A Google Slides version of everything for the students!
