Description

Print and Digital! In this easy-to-use one-page reference, specific concepts and prompts are listed under each day of the week to ensure your time spent on your Poem of the Week is maximized and efficient, as you hit upon all the beginning reading concepts!

Each day of the week contains a different focus (print concepts, phonemic awareness and phonics, word/vocab focus, comprehension, and fluency). Whether you display your poem on a Smartboard, under the doc camera, on a chart, or in individual poetry notebooks, and whether you do this as a whole group, with a small group, or one-on-one, use this product to guide discussion as well as to guide student interaction with the poem (circle certain words, underline others, point to this, put a start by that). The options are endless!

You can download the traditional PDF version to be printed by clicking View 2 Files and then Download, and you also have access to a digital version to be used with Google Classroom™ or any LMS (through TpT's digital tool, Easel) by clicking View 2 Files and then Preview & Assign. This might be useful if you are having students read a Poem of the Week each day at home. I have already prepared a student digital version of this resource for your convenience (deleted teacher pages and added a note to parents). But you can also make your own changes (in terms of a note to parents, instructions, etc., but note the content of the pages is not editable).
