Description
This purchase includes a copy of the poem "Caged Bird" by Maya Angelou with 5 multiple choice questions and 1 short answer question for a great formative assessment. The purchase is 3 pages total- Pg. 1-Poem, Pg. 2-Questions, Pg. 2-Answer Key. The standards assessed in this assignment are RL.5.5 and RL.5.6. Even though this was intended for 5th grade, it could easily be used for upper level 4th graders or adapted for 6th grade students. The standards and learning targets that correlate with this assessment are as followed:
Learning Targets: I can explain how stanzas in a poem relate to each other and develop throughout the text.
I can describe how the author’s point of view influences how the events in the poem are described.
RL.5.5- Analyze the structure of texts, including how specific sentences, paragraphs, and larger portions of the text (e.g., a section, a chapter, scene, or stanza) relate to each other and the whole.
