Plant and Animal Adaptations

Included in this pack are a wide range of activities and resources to support the teaching of adaptations. Your students will love discovering the diverse and amazing wildlife that live in Earth’s beautiful environments, and will be introduced to plants and animals that they never knew existed!

♦ Amazing Adaptations: Information pages about Venus Fly Traps, the Railroad Worm, Darkling Beetle, Cane Toad and Viceroy/Monarch Butterfly

♦ QR Code Research: Fun QR Code research activity for both animals and plants. Website list included.

♦ Create-a-Creature Assessment: Scaffolded printables to guide a Create a Creature design task. Students select and research an environment and design an animal that has both physical and behavioral adaptations to help it to survive. Students make predictions about threats/changes and how these might impact their animal.

♦ Reflection Tools and Templates: General reflection tools and templates that can be used throughout the unit to demonstrate learning.
