What educators are saying

Evergreen's Units were a lifesaver and timesaver for my Life Science 11 classes. Very structured notes and activities, though I had to do a lot of adjusting as my classes are not 60 minutes.

Description

This unit is part of our Honors Biology Full Year Curriculum.

The Plant Origin and Classification Complete Unit was designed to enable students to use their knowledge of evolution to classify the plant kingdom. This unit is intended to provide a broad overview of the major divisions that house the vast biodiversity found in the plant kingdom.

Each 45-minute lesson day begins with bell work that functions as a quiz over the previous day’s concepts. After completing guided notes during the PowerPoint, student understanding is immediately reinforced with targeted activities (full labs, micro-labs, in-class drawings, group activities, etc.). To ensure individual success, each day ends with an exit survey to enable teachers to track each student’s progress.

You will receive 6 days worth of material in a highly organized format:

  • Day 1: Plant Evolution
  • Day 2: Gymnosperms
  • Day 3: Angiosperms
  • Day 4: Monocots and Dicots Lab
  • Day 5: Unit Review
  • Day 6: Unit Test

All documents are fully editable .doc or .ppt files, so feel free to make adjustments that suit your specific needs.

However, please do not share or sell any part of this unit in any capacity - even if you have made significant changes. Any use other than personal use is expressly forbidden.
