Description

This Place Value Through Billions Assessment Pack is a complete formative and summative assessment package, ready to use, to assess your students understanding during your instruction of place value.

This product is appropriate for fourth and fifth grade students (as well as enrichment for lower grades or intervention for higher grade levels).

This product is designed to assess CCSS standards 4.NBT.1, 4.NBT.2, and 5.NBT.1.

This product includes four formative assessment quizzes for students to rate their understanding of place value, use academic vocabulary, represent place value with base ten blocks, write numbers through billions in standard, word, and expanded form, compare and convert among place values. These assessments are designed to inform your instruction throughout your unit.

This product also includes six formative assessment exit slips for students to complete at the end of each lesson to further inform your instruction.

A summative assessment is also included for use at the end of your unit as well as a review/study guide.

All answer keys are included.

Lastly, fifteen academic vocabulary cards are provided for you to display on your math word wall or learning targets bulletin board. Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.
