What educators are saying

This was a very helpful resource to explain the powers of 10 online. I thought it provided enough activities to explain the concepts.
My students loved this activity . It was very useful as a review. It was very clear on each strategy--

Description

This product is a wonderful way to introduce the concept of powers of 10. It includes a PowerPoint with a corresponding note taker. It introduces vocabulary words such as digit, place, value, and place value. It teaches students to recognize that a digit in one place value represents ten times what it represents in the place to the right. In turn, if covers the Common Core state standard 4.NBT.1. It also provides practice for students to complete with a teachers, partner, or independently depending on their ability. The practice handout could also be used for homework or a quiz grade.

I hope you and your class find this resource beneficial and engaging. Please remember to leave feedback!

Thanks,
Kara Lee

Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
