These cards provide teachers and students with a fun and enjoyable way to effectively learn vocabulary words!

This resource includes the following:

  • 22 picture-word cards
  • There are 12 animal cards and 10 action cards which relate to "From Head to Toe" by Eric Carle with corresponding words.
  • Pictures are photographs of people and animals.
  • Each card has or relates to one of the following words: gorilla, seal, monkey, elephant, crocodile, buffalo, cat, camel, parrot, penguin, donkey, giraffe, bend, turn, raise, wriggle, stomp, thump, wave, clap, arch, and kick.
  • Before You Print page
  • Two options to print
  • Easel Activity: has the same 22 colorful word cards all ready for you to use as an oral activity (You can remove or add pages.)

These are very helpful to younger children and E.S.O.L. students. I use these to introduce the new words before reading, reconnect the vocabulary after reading the first time, use for retelling the sequence of the story (the paper format), and to check for oral vocabulary after a few readings and vocabulary practice.
