Description
Are you looking for a fun activity for a brain break or activity for your classroom or small group? This kid-friendly version of charades is designed for students who benefit from visual support. Students take turns acting out a picture (animal, action, sport, person, emotion, etc) and the other group members try to guess which one it is. During my speech and language groups, I often tie this activity in with a discussion about nonverbal communication (facial expressions, body language, gestures). Social skills groups practice taking turns, asking questions, and communicating nonverbally. My youngest students practice expanding their language skills and describing actions ("She is brushing her teeth", "He is playing football", "I am a bunny", etc). I have even received feedback from a drama teacher that this activity also makes a great drama resource!

About Boom Cards:
Boom cards are digital interactive cards that can be used on tablets, computers, laptops, interactive whiteboards and even phones!
