Description
Get your students pumped about the Olympics!
Your students will be attempting to get a new athletic competition entered into the upcoming Summer or Winter Olympic Games. They can work on their pitch individually or in groups, and will either present it live or pre-record it, using slides in either case. It doesn't matter how ‘realistic’ their entry is (re: whether the International Olympic Committee would actually accept their event), they will be evaluated on how well they can pitch it. So, knowing the sport, connecting it to the IOC competition criteria, having great slides, energetically presenting, etc., are all key to success!
The Package Includes:
- Background Readings on the Olympic Games, Their History, and how events become official Olympic Sports
- Individual and group Discussion Questions
- Types and Components of Sports Explanation Sheet
- The Olympic Sport Analysis Activity
- A Research Package for students to complete on the event they choose
- A Brainstorm package for thinking about how to pitch their event
- The Assignment Sheet, Rubric, & Peer Evaluation
This product is great for classroom sessions, extra credit, remote learning, or those times when someone can't actively participate in our physical education classes.
Good luck with your pitches!
