Description
This is my entire photography unit for my yearbook class. As someone who knew very little about photography, I spent years teaching myself photography and developing this unit... and I'm pretty proud of it! This unit takes about 1 month to teach and is a perfect introduction to photography. It can be used in a yearbook class, journalism class, or general photography class. The unit teaches students about basic photography skills, how to use a DSLR camera, and how to shoot on manual mode!
Materials Included:
- Two Power Point presentations that walk students through photography concepts such as lighting, angles, leading lines, exposure, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, etc. Power Points include MANY sample photos to illustrate concepts.
- An exposure "cheat sheet" explaining aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
- A worksheet to help students understand camera settings and buttons on either Nikon or Canon cameras.
- A worksheet to help students analyze photos on a yearbook page.
- Two photography projects (a more challenging one that requires students to take photos on manual mode and a more simple project where students can take photos on an auto setting).
- A photography quiz (multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and short answer).
- And more!
All documents are editable in either either Power Point or Microsoft Word formats.
Many photos were personally taken by me. Some photos have been taken by others and are used here only for academic analysis purposes.
