Description

I created this phonics-focused guided literature unit for my lower-level 5th grade readers who were missing several components of phonics. This is a guided literature unit with a focus on building phonetic skills, vocabulary, summarizing, and fluency. Before reading a chapter, students choral read the word list for that chapter. After reading the chapter, students complete the worksheet by doing a cloze assessment, summarizing the chapter, drawing a picture of the vocabulary word and writing the definition of the vocabulary word.
