Description
Phonics Check! helps assess basic phonics' skills, but it can be used for homework or practice work too. Students read the worksheet and write the answers.
There are a total of four pages (or two, double sided pages) and an answer key for each page. The worksheets ask students to identify: vowels, CVC & CVCe words, open & closed syllables, VCe long vowels, the rules used to make long or short vowel sounds in given words, and long a & e spellings of ei, ai, ay, ea, ee, and ie in given words.
This could be a little difficulat for first graders, but I wanted to let you be the judge of that for your students.
