Description

This Biblical Simulation is based on the story of Peter being confronted by a maid during Jesus’ trial as found in Matthew 26:57-58, 69. 'Peter’s Dilemma' is whether to deny or affirm his relationship with Jesus. The simulation is designed to be utilized in either a study setting or in a worship service as a creative way to share the message. It is particularly appropriate for use during Holy Week.

In a study setting 4 groups spend time in preparation and then play out the simulation. Total time needed is about 1 hour. In a worship setting, a coordinator and 5 story tellers prepare ahead of time and the congregation becomes Peter who needs to make the decision about how to respond to the maid. Simulation provides a sermon or message of about 30 minutes.

Identity sheets with appropriate Biblical material are provided for the story tellers for the worship setting – Peter, a family member, a fellow disciple, Jesus, and Peter’s conscience. Identity sheets with suggested Biblical material are provided for the four groups (family member, fellow disciple, Jesus, and Peter’s conscience) in the study setting. In a study setting this is most appropriate for 8 to 72 players of high school and above. In a worship setting all ages from kindergarten and above can be effectively involved.
