Description
This holiday focused project asks students to choose a common pet and research the impact of holiday foods on that animal. Then, they must suggest a healthy alternative. Included: Poster Option, Presentation Option, Rubrics, Self-Reflection Sheets, Presentation/Poster audience Note matrix, and a Request Letter for presenting in other classes.
1. Poster Project: that can be put up in the hall when they are finished. I didn’t specify the type of animal or foods. That way you can assign them according to student interest, current class subject or research ability.
2. Presentations: The form designates three slides for each person or group.
3. Self-Reflection: This form helps students reflect on their work and make a plan for next time.
4. Rubrics- The rubrics are project specific.
NOTE ABOUT THE RUBRIC: I believe the middle column should result in an A. Exceeding expectations should be rewarded separately from a grade whether it is extra credit or a gold star on their paper.
5. Note Taking Matrix: This can be used as part of a gallery walk if students do posters or as a way of keeping them interested during presentations.
6. Note to teachers: This is included incase you want to send groups out to other classes to present.
