Description

This personal finance unit is a comprehensive unit in three parts that instructs, models and practices personal finance for students from middle school through high school.

WARNING: All of the state-based information is specific to the state of Oregon. It can all be modified for your state or you can use the existing materials to teach for a basic understanding of state-based finances.

Highlights of the curriculum include:

  • An instruction book that teaches the importance of responsible personal finance.
  • A workbook that models and practices setting up a realistic financial situation for students
  • A simulation that pays students with checks, allows them to pay bills online and requires them to file their taxes at the end of the unit
  • More than 100 pages of teacher materials including formative assessment, exit tickets, worksheets, paychecks, tax refund checks, a summative essay about the importance of getting a job vs an education, and much more.

This curriculum is flexible and can be conducted digitally(may require teacher modification) or on paper. The materials are designed to be printed, but digital conversion would be simple.

The materials are available in both PDF format and Google Doc for your convenience.
