Description
In this game, students work in pairs to review the characteristics of the Periodic Table.
They choose an element or group of elements (ship) somewhere on the Periodic Table (battlefield) then try to find their opponents ship/element before theirs is found by asking questions and guessing elements.
Choose different element characteristics to play such as:
- element symbol
- element name
- atomic number
- period/group number
- atomic mass
- # of protons, neutrons & electrons
- valence electrons
Download includes 2 Periodic Tables (player & opponent) and teacher directions.
Materials needed: binder clips or paper clips, file folders, markers
Extension activity - have students color the periodic table with the characteristics and trends before playing. Or laminate and use dry erase markers.
