What educators are saying

This worked wonderfully with my class, and my parents loved it too! I'm always trying to implement better practices each year, and this was definitely a positive introduction into my classroom. I'll be using it from now on! Thank you!!
This lapbook was a great way to discuss our novel (The Lightning Thief) and keep things organized. The students appreciated the final product and were proud to display them. Thanks!

    Description

This bundle combines a lapbook with a variety of comprehension activities with a set of comprehension quick checks to use for assessment.

The Percy Jackson Lapbook is engaging way for students to track their comprehension while reading Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Students will analyze the main character, identify allusions, make connections, evaluate the novel and extend their learning by researching Greek gods and writing their own Camp Half-Blood adventure. This is a great activity to complete during and after reading. These components also work in interactive notebooks.

The Percy Jackson Comprehension Questions includes six quick checks to assess students' comprehension of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. The novel is divided into eight sections: Ch. 1-3, 4-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-18, 19-20, and 21-22. There is also a Quick Check for evaluating the whole novel at the end with three short answer questions. Now includes Google Forms version too!

Suggested uses for the quick checks:

    • Assign a set of chapters to read by a certain date and have students complete as homework.
    • After reading, assign as a warm-up to begin class.
    • Independent reading practice check ups for students to turn in in their own time (or as pre-determined by you) so they can read at their own pace.
    • Open book assessment after a segment of the book is read.
