Description
Looking for a fun and simple way to practice addition or subtraction this winter?! This low-prep, penguin-themed craft is JUST what you need! This penguin addition craft (or subtraction craft!) is sure to keep your kiddos engaged and learning!
With the addition math craft option, your kids will choose a number of penguins to put ON the ice and IN the water. Then they will fill in the word problem to show how many penguins there are in all.
With the subtraction craft option, your kids will put some penguins ON the ice and some that slipped OFF the ice. Then they will fill in the word problem to show how many penguins fell off the ice.
This penguin addition craft (or subtraction craft!) is super easy to differentiate - help your kids choose an addition or subtraction fact at their level in order to show a problem that they are able to work with!

Tips for use in the classroom:
✅Copy the addition or subtraction penguins for your kiddos.
✅You can give your kids a certain number of penguins or let them choose how many to use!
✅Then your kids will color, cut, and put together their penguin scene - some penguins on the ice and some off. Glue on a large sheet of construction paper. (The paper in the sample photo is 12 x 18 inches.)
✅Once their penguin scene is together, they can fill in their word problem piece.
✅These make a cute display too!
Math crafts are a great way to end the week, practice a skill, and are perfect to leave in your sub plans too! This penguin math craft is the perfect addition to your winter plans!
