Patterns Equations & Inequalities Bundle Grade 8 Ontario Math Activities Lessons

This Grade 7 Ontario math unit bundle covers both PATTERNING and ALGEBRAIC EQUATIONS & INEQUALITIES UNITS. It contains Google Slides lessons, worksheets, review activities, stations, assessments, and report card comments.

Please Note: If you already own this product, you'll be happy to know that we have added updates to reflect the 2020 curriculum changes at no extra cost. You will see a file that provides a link to the updated unit. As is the case with all of our units, we'll continue to add material as we gain experience with the new expectations.

If you prefer to use the original units, they are available as well.

LESSON PLANS

We have created lessons which correspond to each of the expectations of the Ontario curriculum. All lessons follow a 3-part format including expectations, learning goals, examples, minds on activities, action activities, extension/discussion activities, and consolidation activities. In some instances, there are two lessons to cover an expectation because of the depth and/or difficulty. I would suggest you move on at pace appropriate for your students.

Each lesson has a GOOGLE SLIDES presentation

I project this in my classroom for students to see. It cuts down on photocopies and makes life much easier because setup is done in advance

STATIONS (CENTRES)

Give your students to work on the material in a different way. I use this an opportunity to spend some time with GUIDED GROUPS (Questions included) for the first half of the period and monitor/assess during the second half of the period. If you have a challenging class, this can a difficult routine to establish, but well worth the effort!

STUDY GUIDE and UNIT TEST (with answer keys). I give the students the Study Guide at the beginning of the unit and have them meet with me periodically before the test to ensure they understand the material
