Students will navigate six different online accounts related to Patriot Day and how the United States continues to remember the heroes of September 11, 2001, and analyze the similarities and differences between each account of the topic.
The accounts of this event are in a variety of formats, from multiple sources (videos, articles, literature, etc.).
Students will determine whether each document is a firsthand or secondhand account, the author's purpose, and analyze for important details/information.
In addition to supporting the common core informational text standards involving multiple accounts of the same event/topic, this product also supports common core informational writing standards. Included with this product is a text-based writing prompt and planning sheet, requiring students to inform about September 11th created a sense of unity and patriotism throughout the United States.
