Past or Present?
Description
I have found when it comes to history activities or printables for kindergarten they are limited. The visuals tend to be rather small for young learners to recognize. They often have limited exposure to visuals outside of their immediate neighnothood or even home. Unfortnately, there is never enough to teach and supplement the entire lesson.
This package contains visuals and activities that are minimal preparation designed to enhance your lesson about past and present, the American flag, and contributions. Many are aligned to the 2015 Virginia’s History and Social Science SOL for kindergarten K.11a-b, K.2a- K.3 and K.1 a, c, d, & g. There are printables, worksheets, reading passages, foldables, 19 real photograph sorting cards, and images of primary sources. Also, since Virginia SOLs are specific to the contributions in OUR communities and towns, I have made some of the worksheets editable. You can add your own images of a local community leader, place, or event and then type the contributions to go along with the image.
