Description

This product has been reworked with chapters split apart, images and links added, and questions updated. More than 30 links are embedded in this PDF. These links provide curated research, videos, and more. Questions and activities have been developed to aid and deepen comprehension and spark critical thinking.

It can be used individually or as a class; use all or part of it; the many links to enrichment material make it ideal for early finishers and great for homeschoolers, too. This is a great resource for distance learning and is easily adaptable to a digital notebook instead of a paper one as described in the directions.

Your time is valuable, so this PDF provides the perfect platform for doing an in-depth, cross-curricular novel study combining language arts with social studies and even science (history of California, California Native Americans, Yokut and Chumash History, California Mission History, figurative language, science (Native American use of animals, earthquakes, tides, diet). I made every effort to balance additional online reading with video, audio, and images to keep students engaged and to expose them to diverse media.
