Partner Poems: Non-Fiction YOGA

Want to provide an independent partner activity (while you do small groups) that combines reading, science/social studies and yoga? So did I! I love using Readers' Theater with pairs and trios during my small literacy groups but I wanted to find a way to incorporate movement that was calm and beneficial to kiddos.

This set contains 1 short Readers' Theater for partners that explains what yoga is (in kid terms). There are also 6 different yoga poses included. Each pose has a partner poem that teaches students about the topic of the pose (i.e. mountains, sharks, etc.) as well as a how-to guide (written and a visual) for the doing the pose once the reading is complete. Using manila folders is the best way to keep each poem (photos included).
