Para Empezar Unit Plan for Auténtico (Spanish) 1 Textbook

The Para Empezar Scope & Sequence accompanies the Auténtico Spanish 1 textbook. It includes 4 weeks of lessons that cover:

• basic conversation topics
• telling time to the quarter hour
• weather and seasons
• calendar words
• the Spanish alphabet
• numbers 1-100

Each lesson is ACTFL standards-aligned and comes with clickable links to the presentations, notes, and activities. Answer keys are included. I utilize Google Slides and Google Docs for presentations and notes. There is also a practice test, test, review, and Sanfermines webquest included!

Note to buyers:

*This unit is dense. My school elected to focus on certain topics only and would not meet all of the criteria within the chapters because we only have 1 month (4 weeks) to teach it. I still included all of the presentations for all of the topics below but did not include them in the sequence planning portion. This unit is 1 week shorter than the 7 other units. This is because the beginning of the year does not allow for enough time to cover all of the topics.

*The activities with page numbers (not direct links to documents) in the scope and sequence align with the Auténtico 1 textbook but the vocabulary is the same as the Realidades 1 textbook. Also, any objective marked with an * was skipped as it was not deemed a priority by our school.

*I stopped creating fill-in-the-blank notes for students for each topic because my school encouraged student ownership and accountability. But, I always include the notes answer key per topic and it's easy to create your own by making a copy and adding lines. Here's an example of how most notes are listed in most unit plans:
