Papas Fritas Elementary 3-5 Spanish Curriculum, Year 1, Unit 3

Effective, engaging Spanish Curriculum for novice learners in elementary grades

This 9-week, 18-day unit plan builds on the previous units to expand students' knowledge, build their confidence, and continue on the path of lifelong language learning. Students will learn Spanish essentials and gain skills in all four areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Each unit includes ACTFL-aligned standards and Can Do Statements in child-friendly language.

The focus of this unit is on the following themes and target phrases (more info in thumbnails):

• months of the year
• numbers 1-30
• weather terms
• age and birthdays
• clothing
• family
• Mexican traditions, history, and culture

This unit includes:

• Detailed Teacher's Guide to walk you through how to implement lessons and use the materials included
• Suggestions for outside resources (song, videos, etc.)
• 75 pages of classwork and print outs, including extra work for subs or early finishers and coloring pages just for fun!
• 240+ pages of unique and compelling visual aids to assist in teaching and retention. Many can be printed and hung in the classroom!
