Pandemics and Public Health Curriculum
Description
Pandemics and public health offers a fact-based approach to understanding the challenges of national and global disease patterns and emergency response. It aims to address foundations in public health, chronic and infectious disease, pandemics, tracking disease patterns, emergency and pandemic preparedness, and prepare today’s home school students for careers in public health.
The course incorporates articles, training videos, engaging talks and presentations, books, and movies to tell the critical story of public health and pandemics in the United States, including supporting commentary from the global context. Lessons reflect a culturally diverse representation of speakers and expert commentary. Resources used include content from WHO, CDC, Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, and news outlets.
